St Mary's for Children

Come and join in the fun!

We are open on Fridays from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. in the Parish Centre. Families enjoy making new friends in a relaxed atmosphere, while their children play safely. Ladies from St. Mary’s Mothers’ Union serve refreshments during the morning for both adults and children.

We have regular Toddler activities - summer outings, Christmas parties and various visitors selling their wares (books, children’s clothes, crafts etc.).

Although we may have a waiting list for a regular weekly place, do feel free to drop in and check us out on either Monday or Friday mornings. You can be sure of a warm welcome.

Sunday Club meets between 10 a.m. and 11.20 a.m. on Sundays (when else?!) which is the same time as the main Service in church. We begin and end our activities in church but go out into the Parish Centre for our own group activities during the middle part of the service.

We welcome children aged 3 - 11 years and divide into two or three groups, depending on the age mix on that particular day. On average, about 22 children plus friends and visitors come along.

We start our own worship with the lighting of the candles, prayers and songs. The children are encouraged to take an active part in our worship by reading the prayers and stories. We then go into our groups for drama, creative activities, games, word searches and quizs.

We have a number of teachers and helpers who assist on a rota basis :- Carolyn, Lorraine, Rona and Olga.
